I remember reading the Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis as a child. This lamppost reminded me of the one that plays a part in at least two of those books.

Remembering Spring
This picture was taken on the first warm day of spring in Central Pennsylvania. I love water and I love the woods, so this was an awesome combination. Also, I spent hundreds of hours playing in streams like this one while growing up.

Phlox Drummondii
I found this beauty outside the Titusville station of the Oil Creek and Titusville Railroad. Imagine my surprise to find such a beautiful flower with my (more or less) name.

Peony
I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the flowers in my neighbors’ yards this year. This is one of the more notable ones.

The very best of color coordination comes from nature. I’m loving the beautiful colors of spring in Central Pennsylvania.

Beautiful Penns Creek
I don’t know if there is anything I find quite so peaceful as a wide portion of a stream full from winter snows. Here you can see the beginnings of green in the grass, but the more colorful budding on the trees has yet to begin. I also like the reflections.

Serenity–The Calm Before The Spring
I was at a wedding last weekend and of course snapped as many pictures as I could. I followed the wedding party to a nearby state park for outdoor pictures. As I left, I pulled over and took a couple of shots back along the stream that ran along side the road. This is one of them.

Snow Delivery
Although we haven’t had any massive accumulations, this has been the snowiest winter I remember of the thirteen I have now spent in central Pennsylvania. This shot was taken after yesterday’s addition.

Winter Wheat
In a lonely dormant field a few stalks of wheat still proudly stand, blowing in the wind, as though waving goodbye to the short cold days of winter and welcoming the coming spring.

Twilight
I must admit this picture didn’t turn out quite the way I had hoped. I was driving home from work and the lighting caught my eye. The near side of the hill was all in shadow while the far side was still enjoying the sunset. I thought the natural backlight was pretty impressive.
